Thursday and Friday this week I went out exploring the area around Souix Narrows and Nestor Falls. I found plenty of wildlife all around there. It was amazing and found a spot where there are always bears which makes me happy! :) Here are some shots from the past couple days.
It's been awhile again. I'm sorry. I'm still living out at the cabin constantly taking photos. Here are some of my latest. We got hit with a violent storm the other day and I took some photos of it and the after math. Unfortunately there was a lot of damage around. Some people lost boats, many trees, and one cabin was crushed by a tree.
Yesterday my family decided to go on a boat ride down the lake. We first went to Smith's Camp for lunch. Yum Yum. Then we headed out to a couple boat lifts. The one at blindfold lake (at the bottom of Rushing River, was completely flooded. We couldn't get anywhere near it cause of the waterfall rushing across the road and down the lift. So we carried on. I took my T70 with me and was planning around with some film, which was fun. At one point we ended up by Scotty's Island and found a Nesting Ground for Cormorants and Gulls. There were 3 little islands that were just covered with nests. It was amazing. It felt like I was in the Galapagos. One island had a huge cliff that was just covered in nests! The other 2 islands were flat with basically no vegetation. If you ever hated Gulls, you won't once you see what they look like when they are babies. They are big balls of fluff. Super Cute and hilarious to watch! There were also baby Cormorants in most of the nests which was very cute. Photographing them was a bit of a challenge cause I was in a boat, that was moving constantly. And I was Manually focusing, because I had my 2x teleconverter on. I can focus really fast now.haha
I found this tiny Spider hiding under the bench on the dock. His web was pretty wet and beaten up from the storms but he seemed to be. He must have gone threw quite the ride with the wind and rain we had.
Sorry for the Delay again. I've been busy out in Kenora. I'm constantly shooting! I think my average is 500 frames a day since school has ended. It's been crazy. I'm LOVING it! Here are a couple photos from Kenora. I'll put up a slide show later today. Keep checking out my Kenora :) Picasa album. I'm trying to update it daily with the photos I've taken.
Yesterday I made myself only shoot Macro. I Love how some of the shots turned out. It was really wet out so everything was covered in raindrops. Beautiful!
Wow it's been a long time since I've updated my Blog! I'm sorry! Been busy getting the portfolio and assignments all done. But now I'm finished! And here it is!
Just a little up date on what has been going on. So I got a couple more photos published in the magazine The Cottager. Very exciting. They bought 2 images of Coney Island. I also received an award from The Uniter (the newspaper i was shooting for) for my photography. Also very exciting! Today we went to the beach for our group photo and Jonah, Kirsten and I enjoy and nice swim and I now have a nice sunburn.
For our latest Image Capture Assignment we were required to take abstract photos, by way of Macro photography. I really enjoy finding beauty in otherwise ugly things.
This past weekend 7 of us, from school, headed out to Steep Rock, Manitoba for the day to take some photos. On the way there we stopped at a couple abandoned houses. They were pretty cool. One of the houses was in a cow paddock so I went and photographed the cows and calves. When we were leaving the farms Jonah found a snake so I pounced on it and we all took pictures. Once at Steep Rock, Kirsten and I stumbled upon a snake den and caught a bunch of snakes for everybody to photograph. It was pretty cool. We then spent the evening out on the rocks shooting all sorts of things. It was a fun, tiring day.
So a couple weeks ago I had a bunch of fellow photographers come out to the cabin. A couple of us stayed out there for the weekend. The Sunday I went exploring in an area I don't know very well and found some amazing spots! It was a super fun weekend and can't wait to get back out there to go exploring some more. Tried doing some Macro work. Played around with lots of things that weekend.
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted work. School has been pretty crazy lately and I've been going out of town every weekend to shoot. So here's a slide show of what I've been up to. I've been pretty Busy. I went to a fair and started shooting random people. I found that Super fun! I've been out at the cabin a bunch shooting landscapes and wildlife as well.
