These are 10 images I took for myself, not for a school assignment. Over Christmas I went away to London, Ontario and Toronto, Ontario. These are some images from the trip.
1. The first image is of a Blue Jay. I took it threw the window of my Papa's house, which is where I stayed while in London. We would put crushed and whole peanuts out on the window sill and watch the Blue Jays and Cardinals fly over and take them. We did this every morning while we were there.
2. The second image is a picture of Yvette and my Papa. I get to see my Papa only a couple times a year and Yvette only at Christmas. It was awesome to get to come out and see them for a much longer period then normal. I took it at a place called Pinecrest. Its one of our favourite spots to go when in Toronto. It was also the first stop on a little road trip I took with my Mom, Papa, Uncle and Yvette. It was an awesome day. Pinecrest, is a ceramics gallery as well as a little restaurant. It's in the middle of a forest of hundred foot trees. There is a beautiful pond that the restaurant faces where I used to photograph swan.
3.This next picture is of one of the beautiful swans that were on a pond just outside of Pinecrest. There were 5 of them, my guess is 3 young ones and the 2 parents. It was a great challenge trying to get a good picture of these swans because the one in this picture kept attacking me. I had to keep jumping back and running off the bridge as this huge bird lunged at me.
4. The next picture is of one of the funny art pieces at a place called WinterWheat. It's in this woods and they have put all these funny characters and pieces of art around the forest. The serve fresh, hot apple cider there. It's a very neat place. I took a picture of this piece because it reminds me of my Uncle.
5. This picture is of a snow fence on the beach of Lake Erie. It's in Port Stanley. As you can see, it had yet to be used, there was no snow out there. Port Stanley has been a favourite stop of ours for years. My mom grew up very close to there so we always go. There are some amazing restaurants that we always go to when out there. They have the best fresh Perch around!
6. The sixth picture I have in this series is a picture of a goose. I took it in London at SpringBank Park. Its one of our favourite parks that we always go to and look at the dam and feed the birds. I actually snapped this picture in Storybook Gardens. It was a favourite place in the park where my parents used to take my brother and I when we were kids. It's kind of a zoo, with only a few animals, but the theme of it is nursery rhymes. I loved this picture because you don't often see geese around when there is snow on the ground.
7.This picture is of David Smith and Bill Slater, 2 of the olympic torch runners. I was lucky enough to catch the torch being run threw St.Thomas on one day and then threw London another. This was the hand off in London. Bill Slater road a double decker bus to the final spot. I got lucky to be right at the hand off to get some really awesome pictures. It was so fun and exciting. It was nice at this spot to take pictures too because David Smith was there early so he was just hanging out posing for photos with the torch till he could light the other one.
8. My eighth picture I took on another road trip that we took once my Brother and Dad got out to London. This was at the Hawk Cliffs. They look out over Lake Erie. They are absolutely incredible. It's like the world just ends. I love this picture because of the colours and how you can just see a little bit of the lake but can tell that the ground just drops off. That was the first time I have ever been to the Hawk Cliffs so it was a very cool experience. We also went out to a wind farm and walked right up to one of the massive windmills. It was very cool.
9. This picture is of the Zombie ducks as my brother, Uncle and I call them. I took this at the Bluffs in Toronto. There were some kids feeding the ducks in a parking lot. There was a boat ramp and these ducks just kept coming out heading straight towards these kids as if they were possessed. It was a very funny site to see. That was the first time I have ever been out the Bluffs there which was cool, and it was snowing so the Lake looked very scary and neat. When we were there, we found a women who was feeding the wild cats that live in the rocks. It was very odd to see, all these cats roaming around in these tunnels in the boulders.
10. My last picture was what my family and I did the last day we were in Toronto. We all went up the CN tower. We have been up it many times, but it's always different. It was a perfectly clear day so we could see everything. We could actually see buildings on the other side of Lake Ontario. My Brother and I had fun jumping on the glass floor freaking my Dad out. My brother and I also went outside at the top of the tower. It was so windy you could lean over and be on a crazy angle and you wouldn't call over. You could barely open your eyes it was so windy. It was very fun.
That was pretty much everything I did over the Christmas Break! It was a great time!
